Men Tried To Break Into Home, Spotted On Ring Camera: Meriden Police
Police said the resident saw the men, including one who was armed with a gun, on the porch and trying to get into the home.

MERIDEN, CT — Two men were arrested after police said they tried to break into a home in Meriden last Thursday.
Police received a call from a resident on Dec. 28 reporting that there were two men on the front porch of the home, and one was armed with a gun while trying to get into the home, according to Sgt. Michael Boothroyd.
Boothroyd said the resident was watching the incident via a Ring camera. The suspects left the porch before police arrived.

Responding officers searched the area and found two men walking who matched the description provided by the caller, according to Boothroyd.
Boothroyd said one man had his hand in his pocket and when he removed it, a loaded .45 Glock handgun fell to the ground. The two men were detained and gave police false names, according to Boothroyd.

They were eventually identified as Robert Dobson, 29, of Meriden, and Robert Tiarre Bowens, 20, of Bridgeport, and arrested, Boothroyd said.
Dobson was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit attempted first-degree burglary, criminal possession of firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, and interfering with police. He was held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Bowens was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit attempted first-degree burglary, criminal impersonation, interfering with police, and possession of a controlled substance. He was held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Boothroyd said both men also had multiple re-arrest warrants from other towns.
