Meriden Candy Company Seeks $500,000 Loan From City
The Thompson Candy Co. is requesting a $500,000 loan to expand operations.

MERIDEN, CT — The Thompson Candy Co. is seeking a $500,000 manufacturing loan from the city to increase production and modernize operations at its South Vine Street location, according to The Meriden Record Journal. The company applied for a similar loan from the Meriden Manufacturing Assistance Program about 15 years ago.
City officials said the company has "a good track record of making payments." The City Council is scheduled to vote on the loan request at its Tuesday night meeting.
