Meriden Center Fined For Patient's Leg Injury
The facility was fined in connection with a 2017 incident.

MERIDEN, CT - Meriden Center was fined $3,270 due to a resident suffering a leg laceration while a nurse aide was transferring the patient from a wheelchair to a bed, according to Connecticut Health I-Team. The incident occurred on Dec. 23, 2017, and the resident's left leg was trapped under the bed.
The injury required the resident to be taken to an acute-care facility where sutures were applied to the laceration.
“Meriden Center is committed to providing high-quality care to our patients and residents,” spokeswoman Carol Albright Rohrbaugh told Connecticut Health I-Team. “Since that time [of the citation] we provided additional staff education and training, and submitted a plan of correction to the state.”
