Meriden Man Charged With Possessing 'Ghost Gun': Police

A Meriden man is facing gun charges.

MERIDEN, CT — A man has been charged with gun crimes in Meriden, according to police. Tavion Jackson, 25, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, altering/no serial number on a firearm, possession of a high capacity magazine, and motor vehicle charges.

Police said officers saw a vehicle traveling on Springdale Avenue on Thursday and recognized Jackson, whose license is currently suspended. Officers also had information that Jackson possessed a gun that he did not have a permit for, according to police.

Police stopped Jackson's car and during an investigation found a 9 mm Polymer pistol with a high capacity magazine in the car. The pistol was not stamped with a serial number and was classified as a "ghost gun."

Jackson was held on $250,000 bond.
