The city manager will remain in his position, with stipulations, following a vote by the City Council this week.
MERIDEN, CT — Meriden City Manager Timothy Coon will remain in his position, with stipulations, after being charged with DUI in connection with a wrong-way crash last Wednesday in Wethersfield, according to multiple reports, including WTNH News 8.
WTNH reports the City Council voted Monday, after a long executive session, to keep Coon in his position as long as he completes the required treatment.
The city’s legal department will draft a memorandum of understanding that states Coon must complete an initial assistance program intake as a prerequisite for returning to City Hall after his leave of absence ends on Friday, according to the Record-Journal.
