Meriden Considers Tax Breaks For Manufacturers

A proposal would encourage companies to increase the number of manufacturing facilities in the city.

MERIDEN, CT — A proposal supporting the growth of manufacturing in Meriden is heading back to committee, The Meriden Record-Journal reported. The proposal would allow any company the operates two manufacturing facilities in the city to open a third facility that would be eligible for tax abatements.

The tax abatement would have an eight-year term and would have a 25% real estate assessment of the property being considered.
