Meriden Council Approves $1.4 Million In Budget Cuts
The budget approval still raises taxes after another budget proposal was rejected by voters last month.

MERIDEN, CT - The council approved a new budget by an 11-1 vote that will cut city programs by $1.4 million, according to a report in the Meriden Record-Journal. The new budget increases taxes by 3.28 percent. The original budget, which was rejected in a recent referendum, would have raised taxes by 4.53 percent.
