MERIDEN, CT — The City Council <a href="https://www.myrecordjournal.com/News/Meriden/Meriden-News/Meriden-City-Council-meets-to-consider-override-of-police-citizens-review-board-veto" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">voted to establish</a> a police Civilian Review Board at a Wednesday night meeting, The Meriden Record-Journal reported. The vote overrides Mayor Kevin Scarpati's veto of the measure. The council voted 8-4 in favor of the proposal. Measures require a two-thirds majority to override the mayor's veto. Councilors supporting the proposal said that it will bring greater accountability to the police use-of-force investigation process.
