Update: Meriden Crash On I-691 Cleared

MERIDEN — An accident involving a vehicle and a trailer has snarled traffic on Interstate 691 Monday afternoon, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The DOT reports the crash was on the westbound side of Interstate-691 between exits 8 and 7, resulting in only one lane being open.

The wreck happened at about 1:01 p.m., with state authorities saying it was "unknown" when the scene would be cleared up.
