Meriden Family Saved from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning: Fire Marshal
A local teacher checked on the Camp Street home, which prompted an evacuation.

MERIDEN, CT - A local family was saved from possible carbon monoxide poisoning Monday when a local teacher checked on the Camp Street rental home where the family lives, discovering high levels of the dangerous gas in the air.
The Meriden Record-Journal writes that the home is owned by the mother of teacher Ryan Price, which is rented out to tenants.
Fire officials told the Record-Journal that the tenants were using a generator to power the home, which was releasing a dangerous level of carbon monoxide into the air. The gas levels were so high that firefighters had to don masks to enter the home and they immediately evacuated the family.
