Meriden Health Director Charged With Falsifying Report

Meriden Director of Health and Human Services Lisa Pippa was charged Friday with falsifying the report of a reported burglary.

Pippa has been on administrative leave from her position and turned herself in Friday, according to the Record-Journal.

Pippa reported a burglary two weeks ago in the health department, but the incident may have been staged, according to city officials. There have also been a number of strange letters that city officials have been receiving.

Her lawyer said that she suffers from a mental illness and that combined with a recent medication for a neck surgery led to the events of the past couple of weeks.
