Meriden Hit by 2 Separate Bank Robberies in 2 Days: Police

The robberies occurred at a TD Bank on Friday, and at a Liberty Bank on Saturday. Both banks are on East Main Street in Meriden.

MERIDEN, CT — Local police are investigating two separate bank robberies that occurred on Friday and Saturday on East Main Street.

The first one occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday at a TD Bank at 733 East Main St., according to police.

"The male suspect implied he had a weapon and demanded money," police wrote in a statement. "He fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash in an unknown direction. It is not known if he utilized a vehicle."

Meriden police have released surveillance photos of the suspect, and ask that anyone with any information on the identity of the suspect should contact Det. Wagner at 203-630-6334.

The second robbery occurred at a Liberty Bank, located at 852 East Main St., when a lone male entered the bank and wrote a note on the back of a deposit slip.

"The suspect indicated that he was in possession of a weapon; however, no weapon was displayed," police wrote. "The teller passed an undetermined amount of money over to the suspect who then fled the bank on foot. At this time this investigation is currently ongoing and it is possible that the suspect may have left the area in a red colored vehicle; however, no make or model is available."

Despite the two robberies occurring on back-to-back days on the same street near each other, they were not committed by the same suspect, according to police.
