Meriden Humane Society Director Arrested on Forgery Charges: Police
Police said the department opened an investigation of the organization last year.

MERIDEN, CT — Marlena DiBianco, director of the Meriden Humane Society, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday charging her with second-degree Forgery in connection with an alleged forged rabies vaccination certificate, according to police.
The investigation into the case began in April 2015 after "numerous broad based allegations of misconduct were brought to light," police wrote in a statement.
"The basis for said warrant stems from the forging of a rabies certificate in which a non-vaccinated animal was adopted out to a member of the public leading the person who adopted said animal to believe that the animal had in fact been vaccinated," police said.
