Meriden Man Assaulted Woman With Baseball Bat: Police
A man has been charged with chasing a woman into a gas station and assaulting her with a baseball bat, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man is facing charges that he chased a woman into a gas station and assaulted her with a baseball bat, according to police. Esteban Hernaiz was charged with first-degree assault, violation of a protective order, first-degree reckless endangerment, and breach of peace.
He was held on $200,000 bond.
Police said that a female victim was chased into a gas station at 934 Broad St. by her boyfriend, Hernaiz. Once inside, Hernaiz assaulted the victim with the bat, which he took from behind the counter, according to police.

Hernaiz then fled. The victim was transported for treatment of her injuries.
Hernaiz was taken into custody Tuesday following an investigation.
