Meriden Man Choked, Assaulted Woman: Report

A city man was arrested on allegations he strangled a woman and threatened her with a knife.

MERIDEN, CT - A city man was arrested Monday on charges that he assaulted a woman, according to The Meriden Record-Journal. Lamar Edwards, 33, of 15 Silver St., has been charged with with second-degree threatening, third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, first-degree unlawful restraint, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

The alleged March 17 assault involved police responding to the residence. A woman there told police Edwards slammed her into a wall, choked her, and a held a knife to her throat.
