Meriden Man Faces Animal Cruelty Charges after Allegedly Starving Dogs, Puppies: Report

The 31-year-old suspect faces multiple counts.

MERIDEN, CT — A 31-year-old Meriden man is facing multiple counts of cruelty to animals for allegedly starving two adult dogs and three puppies, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

Ricky Wells is accused of leaving the animals without food and water for several days in March at a residence from which he was evicted, according to police.

The animals survived, but when they were found they were covered in feces and urine and required treatment by a veterinarian.
