Meriden Man Killed When Car Slips Off Jack
A local man, Milton Rodriguez, 31, has died due to injuries after a car he was working on slipped off the jack.
MERIDEN, CT — A local man has died after a car he was working on slipped off a jack and trapped him beneath the vehicle. Emergency services responded to the call at Eastgate Common apartments at 120 Gravel St. at around 9 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the victim, Milton Rodriguez, 31, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later died due to those injuries.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found that Rodriguez had been working on his vehicle which had been up on a jack in order to change the tires. The jack then gave way when the vehicle rolled and trapped him underneath.

Bystanders managed to lift the car off Rodriguez before emergency crews arrived on the scene, FOX 61 reported.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and chest.

This incident has been ruled an accident, according to a police statement.
