Meriden Man, Police Officer, Found Guilty Of Risk Of Injury To Minor
The man was found guilty following a jury trial, officials announced.
MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man who works as a police officer with Southern Connecticut State University has been found guilty by a jury of risk of injury to a minor, according to officials.
Emmanuel Cordero, 41, was found guilty Aug. 23 following a Superior Court jury trial, New Haven State’s Attorney John P. Doyle Jr. announced in a news release.
Doyle said the conviction stems from an incident that occurred on Nov. 13, 2019 in Hamden. The victim in the case was 12 years old at the time, according to Doyle.

Cordero was employed as a police officer with Southern Connecticut State University at the time of the incident.
The case was investigated by the Hamden Police Department.

The Connecticut Post reports Cordero has been placed on administrative leave by Southern Connecticut State University pending a human resources review.
