Meriden Man Charged In 2021 Shooting: Police
A Meriden man accused of hitting police cruisers with his car is facing charges in connection to a shooting last year, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A man already facing charges in an incident that injured five officers has also been charged in a shooting last year, according to a police Facebook post. Police said they received a call April 16, 2021, regarding gunshots in the area of Lewis Avenue and Springdale Avenue.
Police did not find a victim but did locate several shell casings. While police were investigating, they received a call from Mid State Medical Center reporting that a gunshot victim had arrived at the emergency room with non-life-threatening injuries.
On April 26, 2021, police attempted to stop a vehicle related to the shooting investigation. During this incident, several officers were injured, police said. Police recovered two illegal guns, and one of those arrested was Luis Camacho, 26, of Meriden.
