Meriden National Guard Soldier Receives New Rank

The promotion, which includes a new rank and new responsibilities, was recently announced.

MERIDEN, CT — (Contributed): Major General Ray Shields, the adjutant general for the state of New York, announces the recent promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

Brenton Mahoney from Meriden, and assigned to the 719th Transportation Company, received a promotion to the rank of sergeant on March 22.

Army National Guard promotions are based on a Soldier's overall performance, demonstrated leadership abilities, professionalism, and future development potential.
