Meriden Officer Riding in Police Unity Tour
The ride will help raise money for the law enforcement memorial and raise awareness of on-duty police deaths.

Meriden Police Officer Mike Ford will once again take part in the 300-mile Police Unity Tour bike ride to raise awareness of line-of-duty police deaths.
Ford will be riding in memory of two Alaska state troopers Gabriel Rich and Sgt. Patrick Johnson who were killed in May 2014 while trying to apprehend a man in a remote village.
The man’s son allegedly grabbed a rifle and shot both troopers.

Ford raised $2,300 last year and is hoping to raise more than $3,000 this year.
The funds benefit the upkeep of the law enforcement memorial and addition of new names. Those who wish to donate can do so here.
