Meriden Parent Group Wants School Uniforms
Two local moms are leading a campaign for the district to adopt uniforms.

MERIDEN, CT - Two local moms are spearheading a campaign for the district to invest in school uniforms, according to WTNH. Jasmine Ortiz and Janette Irizarry said adopting school uniforms would lead to less bullying and lower costs for parents. Ortiz and Irizarry said that uniforms would lead to greater equality among students.
However, school district officials said the data doesn't support adopting school uniforms. Superintendent Mark Benigni said evidence shows that school uniforms don't lead to less bullying.
