Meriden Police Capture Package Thief Suspect

MERIDEN, CT — One suspect was caught and another eluded police after a recent report of stolen packages from the Highland Avenue area. Police were able to locate and return many of the packages to the victim.

Doreen Guarino posted on social media that she was grateful for the police's help: "A big shout out to the Meriden Police Department!! THANK YOU! They saved my Christmas!"

She said the stolen boxes police returned were filled with toys she had ordered for her grandchildren.

Police wrote on Facebook: "It was an outstanding job by all officers involved of not only apprehending the suspect but then going to extra step of canvassing the area and locating numerous packages that had been scattered in multiple locations."
