Meriden Police Department to Receive Meals from Tampa's Food Truck
Meriden-based Allen's Abatement Service has arranged for the popular food truck to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to officers next week

MERIDEN, CT — Two Meriden businesses are teaming up to show some appreciation to the Meriden Police Department for all the hard work they do.
Next Tuesday, July 26, Tampa's Food Truck will service breakfast, lunch and dinner to members of the department, courtesy of Greg and Floresia Allen, owners of Allen's Abatement Service, which is picking up the tab.

The gesture grew out of a desire to show local law enforcement that the Meriden community cares about and appreciates the department, especially in light of recent senseless acts against members of law enforcement.
"In light of all that is occurring across this country with respect to law enforcement and the relationships between the members of law enforcement and the communities in which they serve, we here at thenMeriden Police Department are truly thankful for this generous act of kindness and recognition," department officials wrote in a statement.

They added, "The members of the Meriden Police Department wish to thank Greg and Floresia Allen in advance for their very generous gesture. In addition we would also like to take this opportunity to thank the countless number of people who have reached out to our agency over the last couple of weeks. Since the tragic events in Dallas and now most recently the horrific incident in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the outpouring of love and support from the citizens of Meriden has been overwhelming."
The food truck will be serving officers on Tuesday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. for breakfast; between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for lunch; and between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to serve dinner.
