Meriden Police Investigate Homicide

MERIDEN, CT — Police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Grove Street Sunday morning. The victim was Casey Eric Schoonover, 34, of Meriden.

Police said they do not believe the killing was a random act of violence.

Police said they received a call for possible shots the area of 190 Grove St. in the early morning hours Sunday. When they arrived, two cars were speeding away from the area, but they could not locate anything to corroborate the shots-fired report.

Later in the morning, police were called for a report of a body close by on Foster Court. The man had been shot, which appeared to be the cause of death.

Police said the investigation is active.
