Meriden Police Release Surveillance Photos of Car that Killed Mother in Fatal Hit-and-Run
Dania Cegeno-Delrosario, 40, was killed as she saved her seven-year-old daughter, Denisse, by pushing the girl out of the way.
MERIDEN, CT — The search continued Tuesday for the vehicle that killed 40-year-old Dania Cegeno-Delrosario in Friday's hit-and-run crash in Meriden, and police have released surveillance photos to help find the culprit.
Cegeno-Delrosario was struck and killed as she pushed her seven-year-old daughter, Denisse, out of the way of the on-coming car, saving the girl's life.
"At this time we have reason to believe that the vehicle in these photographs are the evading vehicle involved in the accident which resulted in the death of Ms. Cegeno-Delrosario," wrote Meriden police in a statement. "This was a horrific incident which has left a 7 year old girl without her mother and the Meriden Police Department will work tirelessly trying to locate the operator and the vehicle involved."

Witnesses to the crash initially described the suspect vehicle as red with tinted windows, though police said the color may be different. The car, believed to be a Nissan, is also missing side mirror and may have front side damage.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact either Lt. Thomas Cossette or Officer Mark Gibbs at 203-630-6215," police wrote.
