Her fiancé was named as a "prime suspect" in her disappearance. Jason Watson, 38, of West Main Street, was arrested last week for strangulation, assault, and unlawful restraint related to a domestic incident, reports WTNH News 8. He has been charged for last week's alleged domestic incident and not in connection with Mason's disappearance.
Police found the body hours after court documents showed that Mason sent photos of her injuries to Watson following the altercation last week. Mason wrote in one text message "You almost killed me" when Watson choked her until she blacked out, The Courant reported.

Police spoke with Watson’s probation officer who said Watson denies assaulting Mason. In a later conversation with the probation officer, Watson said he restrained Mason by the throat to prevent an assault, the warrant said.
During Watson's arraignment Wednesday, he was named as the “prime suspect” in Mason's disappearance, the Meriden Record-Journal reports. Watson remains held in lieu of a combined $650,000 bond.
Mason recently moved to Connecticut from Hawaii with her two children. Watson called Meriden Police Sunday to report that Mason may be missing, but that she was possibly staying with a friend because she was mad at him, according to NECN, which cited an arrest warrant affidavit.
Mason's out-of-state sister Vao Horlback contacted police later the same day to tell them that she hadn't heard from her in two days and that Mason had told her that Watson had choked her unconscious, according to the affidavit. Mason sent photos of injuries, but said she didn't want to call police.
Watson's attorney says his client has cooperated with authorities.
Horlback told FOX 61 that she spoke to Mason Friday but she was unable to contact her Saturday. This was unusual as the two sisters speak on a daily basis. She said that she gained access to Mason's phone records and that Mason had called 911 twice on Saturday night, with each call lasting less than a minute.
Horlback has come to Connecticut to take care of Mason's two children.
