Meriden Police Seize $5K Worth Of Illegal Fireworks

Police seized the illegal fireworks following numerous complaints.

MERIDEN, CT — Police recently seized $5,000 worth of fireworks from a garage after received numerous complaints. According to police, they searched a two-car garage on a property at 171-173 Bunker Ave. on Friday.

The Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad was called to the scene and the fireworks were turned over to them for destruction. Police said they do anticipate arrest charges to follow in this matter.

Police said the Patrol Division has been receiving numerous complaints regarding illegal fireworks activity and are working to identify anyone who is in possession of and/or setting off illegal fireworks within the city.

As with this particular investigation, any other investigations which results in the seizure of fireworks and the identification of those in possession of them will result in criminal charges being filed.
