Meriden Police Seize Weapons, Drugs In Crown Street Raid

A city man was also arrested for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman.

MERIDEN, CT - Police executed two separate raids early Friday morning at 124 and 245 Crown St., executing warrants for arrest and recovering illegal weapons and drugs. One of the men arrested was also charged in connection to an assault on a pregnant woman.

"As a result of this investigation, these officers formulated and executed a plan to remove illegal weapons from the streets of Meriden and successfully completed this mission without any injury to themselves or the public," police said in a statement.

Police said the raid resulted in the following arrests:

Jakeese Dingwell, 27, of 245 Crown St., was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of third-degree strangulation, four counts of third-degree assault on a pregnant person, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, violation of a protective order, and several other charges.

Ryan Williams, 28, of 124 Crown St., was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute within 1500 ft. of a day care, theft of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance within 1500 ft. of a day care.

Tyzhan Leatherwood, 22, of 124 Crown St., was charged with interfering with a police officer and assault on a police officer.
