Meriden Police to Start Campaign Against Distracted Driving
Here is another reason to stop texting and driving.

Meriden Police will begin a high-visibility enforcement campaign for distracted driving.
The campaign will kick-off April 1 and is made possible by a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
Meriden ranks in the top 25 cities or towns in the state for high distracted driving rates, police said.

Officers will concentrate on well-traveled roads through the city as well as school zones.
The campaign will continue until April 30 and will pick-up again August 3 through August 16.
