Meriden Resident Named GNAC Rookie Of The Week

MERIDEN, CT — Meriden’s Alex Perez, a freshman on the Albertus Magnus College baseball team, has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, officials announced Monday.

Perez, a Maloney High School graduate, had a breakout week for the Falcons, going 6-for-17 (.353) with three home runs, a double, seven RBIs, and a .941 slugging percentage.

In the second game of a doubleheader against Lasell on March 28, he went 2-for-4 and hit two two-run home runs, which were the first two of his career, while driving in four runs.

In game one against New England College on March 29, he went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, two runs, and three RBIs.
