Meriden Resident's Play Offers Anti-Bullying, Anti-Suicide Message

Teens are presenting a free performance of the play at Washington Middle School this week.

MERIDEN, CT - A play written by Meriden resident Valerie Brown highlights the struggles with bullying, depression and suicide that can consume some teens.

“A Stand Against Bullying and Suicide” is partially based on the experiences of a nephew of Brown's from Delaware who committed suicide in 2006 at the age of 15, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

The play will be performed for free by local high school students and members of Meriden's Beat the Street Community Center Wednesday evening, May 24, at 6 p.m. at Washington Middle School on North Broad Street.
