The national survey by Niche.com ranked the district last in the New Haven Metro area.

The Meriden school system was ranked the 31st best New Haven Metro Area school system out of 31 schools in the region according to 2015 Niche Rankings.

Meriden received a C for its academics, it earned a C+ for health and safety, teachers received a C+, resources and facilities scored a C, extracurricular activities scored a B+ and sports received a C+.

According to state standards, 67% of students in this district are considered proficient in math and/or reading. The district has an annual budget of $132,606,000, spending an average of $15,988 per student.
