Meriden Superintendent Benigni Profiled in Education Week

Meriden Superintendent of Schools Mark Benigni was recently profiled by Education Week for his role in expanding learning time in Meriden schools.

Benigni has helped implement full-day kindergarten, Saturday enrichment activities and time for teacher collaboration.

“I always knew education was my passion,” Benigni said. “Even as mayor, it was about what I could do to better the lives of people, and most importantly, students.”

Benigni was mayor for three terms before eventually becoming superintendent.

Also in his time the town has taken on a $230 million project for the two high schools.
