Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company Lands FEMA Grant

The $225,450 grant will pay for replacement of the company's 1973 brush truck.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT — The Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company is proud to announce we were recently awarded $225,450 for replacement of our 1973 brush truck! This award is a huge win for the fire company, our town, and our taxpayers.

Middlefield was one of only 89 fire departments nationwide that was awarded funds for vehicle acquisition, out of a total 18,000 applicants for the 2021 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG).

This highly competitive grant assists fire departments nationwide in numerous operational aspects.

Our committee is actively working on specifications for this vehicle with hopes of delivery next year, to provide our volunteer organization with a safe apparatus that has increased capabilities.
