Midstate Chamber: New Funding Announced To Support CT's Manufacturing Sector

The new initiatives, with a budget of $3.7 million, include:

- Increased engineering internships for CT resident college students
- Matching grants for digital readiness and cybersecurity assessments

- Retaining an organization to facilitate matches between CT innovators and CT manufacturers
-An advertising campaign highlighting career opportunities in manufacturing
-A comprehensive manufacturing website
-Regional career fairs
The MIF advisory board also approved investments in ongoing industry programs, including the Incumbent Worker Training Program ($1.5 million), Apprenticeship Program ($1.0 million), and Manufacturing Voucher Program ($2.1 million). The programs once again demonstrate our commitment to the manufacturing industry, which remains an important part of the state's plan to grow the economy.
