Motorcyclist ID’d In Fatal Crash In Meriden: Police
The motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a car early Monday morning in Meriden.
MERIDEN, CT — The motorcyclist killed in a crash Monday in Meriden has been identified as 32-year-old Maxwell Lafayette of Meriden, police said in an update Tuesday morning.
Meriden police received several 911 calls around 5:50 a.m. on Oct. 2 reporting a crash involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of Colony Street at Camp Street.
Emergency crews found the motorcycle operator at the scene with serious head injuries, according to police.

Police said Lafayette was taken to MidState Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Lafayette was operating a 2008 Honda VTX 1800 and traveling north on Colony Street, according to police.

Police said a 2003 Nissan Altima was traveling west on Camp Street and making a left turn onto Colony Street when the motorcycle hit the driver side of the Nissan.
The female driver of the Nissan was taken to the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, according to police.
Any witnesses to the crash are asked to call the Meriden Police Department at 203-630-6201. Officer Joe Vasquez is the Investigator assigned to this crash or Sgt. C. Griffin, according to police.
