Music & Arts in Meriden

Being newbies to Meriden we are still trying to get a handle on opportunities to enjoy and support music and the arts in our community. For us this isn't just entertainment as we also believe that music and the arts deeply enrich a community and its shared quality of life. I look forward to continuing to explore those opportunities in and around Meriden.
In the spirit of "walking the talk" we at First Baptist Church of Meriden plan to bring in musicians and artists on a regular basis and hopefully also as free/donation opportunities. *see www.fbcmeriden.org for concert info.
Our first installment arrives this Friday, October 4th at 7:00 pm as we welcome The Crossing from Chicago Illinois; The Crossing are a 5 piece Celtic ensemble who play and sing traditional and authentic Celtic music (think Irish and Scottish, the grandmother of Blue Grass) and they will present a free concert with an offering received to assist with expenses, all welcome.
On December 20 we will welcome the St. Petersburg Men's Ensemble from St. Petersburg Russia; a 4 member vocal ensemble that presents a two part concert of Russian sacred music and Russian folk music sung in Russian with performance note. This group sings annually at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. for Christmas Eve and we are privileged to host them for the Meriden leg of their N.E. tour.
I hope to see you at a concert, play or exhibit real soon. Shalom, Pastor Leon
