Obituary: Angela Sabino Del Nero, 81, Of Meriden
Angela, who was proud of her upbringing and heritage, was passionate about her family and passing on traditional Italian values.

MERIDEN, CT — (From North Haven Funeral Home): Angela Sabino Del Nero of Meriden passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at MidState Medical Center surrounded by her loving children following a courageous battle with metastatic pancreatic cancer. Angela was the beloved wife of 41 years to the late Luigi Del Nero.
Angela was born on January 23, 1942 in Treglia, Comune di Pontelatone, P. Caserta, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Giovannina Marra Sabino.
Prior to her retirement Angela was employed as a factory worker at International Silver, Silver City Glass, Napier, Eyelet Specialty and lastly as a machine operator at Walbro Automotive/TI Group, where she proudly completed a workplace literacy program.

Angela was passionate about her family and passing on traditional Italian values, which was important to her as she was proud of her upbringing and heritage. She enjoyed: cooking, baking, gardening, canning, pickling, making Italian cured meats and singing classic Italian songs to and with her cherished Grandsons.
She is survived by her children: John Del Nero (fiancé Kim Gallup), Josephine Del Nero, Rosanna Del Nero, Maria Del Nero Secord (Ian) and Giuseppe Del Nero (fiancé Yoly Traverso) and Grandsons Mason and Logan Secord. She is also survived by her sister Agnese Izzo (Michele), sister-in-law Lidia Sabino and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Angela was predeceased by: her brother Marcellino Sabino (Concetta), her sister Vincenza Izzo (Emanuelle), her brother Antonio Sabino and two brothers who died in infancy.

The visiting hours will be Thursday, Jan. 25 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Queen of Angels/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden on Friday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Meriden.
