Obituary: Barbara Mary Chall, 90, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home): Barbara Mary Chall, 90, a life-long Meriden resident, passed away on November 27, 2022. She was born in Meriden on August 14, 1932, a daughter of the late Irving and Mary Wactowski Chall.

Barbara is survived by her nieces Sandra McCann and her husband Daniel, and Deborah Chall, great nieces, and nephews; Jennifer Wilcox (Steven), Kelly McCann (Rosaldo Abastillas), Rebecca Schnaars, Derek Schnaars (Fiancée Morgan), Phillip Schnaars (Partner Christine), and numerous more great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Chall.

Barbara worked as an office clerk for International Silver in Meriden for many years. She then went on to work for World Tableware until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed volunteering with the Grey Ladies of the Red Cross at the Newington Veterans Hospital, gardening, and teaching Sunday School, which she did for many years.

Barbara was a long-time devoted member of New Life Church, first in Meriden, then Wallingford, where she was highly active.

To all who knew Barbara know that she truly loved her church, and was always grateful for her church family, and the memories they shared together.

Barbara’s family is extremely grateful for the love and support of her friends, as well as the caring support they received from Hartford Health Care at Home, Hospice Care.

A funeral service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. at New Life Church, 350 High Hill Rd. Wallingford. Visiting hours will be held in the church from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. before the service. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to: New LifeChurch, 350 High Hill Rd.
