Obituary: Carlene (Schultz) Owen, 70, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home): Carlene (Schultz) Owen, 70, of Meriden, loving wife of the late Douglas Owen, passed away on July 13, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 15, 1952, a daughter of the late Carl and Marion (Gustine) Schultz, and was a lifelong resident of Meriden.

Carlene is survived by her sons, Patrick Owen and his wife Maureen, Michael Owen and his wife Sandra, and “son #3” Matthew Lis; her siblings, Pamela Nielsen and her husband Robert, and Keith Schultz and his wife Marcia; grandchildren, Julia, Alex, and Tyler Owen; sisters-in-law Melissa Owen and Joyce Owen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Clark Owen.

Carlene dedicated her life to her family, and her home was always open to everyone. It was continuously filled with love, life, and laughter. She adored her grandchildren and they loved playing games and sharing stories together, with both her and Pa. She was the designated mom to so many, especially those on Team CWS in the MASA organization. She loved fiercely and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Services will be privately held at the convenience of her family.
