Obituary: Carlos Ocasio, 58, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Carlos Ocasio, 58, of Meriden, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Midstate Medical Center. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 19, 1965, he was a son of the late Fundador Ocasio Nieves and the late Ana M. Rosado.

A hard worker, Carlos enjoyed painting, doing sheetrock and drywall as well as many other construction tasks. He loved watching movies and TV, playing soccer as a teenager, and listening to music, “la Pachanga.”

Carlos is survived by his children, Jean Ocasio of Worcester, MA, Louis Ocasio of Sturbridge, MA, Rose Ocasio of Worcester, MA, and Nieshalee Ocasio of Puerto Rico; his beloved girlfriend, Alice Ramos of Meriden; his siblings, Jose A. Ocasio, Ana M. Ocasio, Maria I. Ocasio, Iris Z. Ocasio, Hector M. Ocasio, Elizabeth Ocasio, Linda I. Vega, Wilma E. Vega, Cindy J. Nieves, Aleris M. Nieves, as well as many loved extended family members and friends in Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Puerto Rico.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., on Friday, October 13th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. A memorial service and celebration of his life will begin at 6 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
