Obituary: Elias Ortiz Sr, 77, formerly of Meriden
Elias, passionate cook and devoted family man, worked as a machinist supervisor at Stanadyne in Windsor for 33 years.
MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Elias Ortiz Sr, 77, of Kissimmee, Florida, formerly of Meriden Ct. Loving husband of Maria (Siso) Ortiz Burgos, passed away January 12, 2022 at Poinciana Medical Center in Kissimmee.
He was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on September 3, 1944, a son of the late Lino and Carmela (Cruz) Ortiz. He was the youngest of 14 children.
He worked as a machinist supervisor at Stanadyne Windsor Ct., for 33 years.
His passion was cooking, doing pig roasts and spending time with his children, grandkids and great grandkids who he loved very much and they loved him. He will truly be missed by all.
In addition to his wife Maria of 60 years, he is survived by his children, Jeanette Pagan (her husband Felix Pagan), Ivette Ortiz, Judith Ortiz, Elias Ortiz Jr., and Maria E. Ortiz. He had 15 grandkids and 7 great grandkids.
His family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 4pm until 7pm. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday in the funeral home.
Interment will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.
