Obituary: Jennifer Beegan, 60, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home): Jennifer (Paoli) Beegan, born in New York City on March 26, 1962, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at age 60 due to complications from chronic illness.
What can one even say? How do you narrow down a life into a few short quips and do her justice?
Well, she loved drama. A 45-minute errand would yield a treasure trove of memories and experience. She was a true observer of human nature and knew how to craft stories from even the mundane. Life for most is a monotonous string of half-assed interactions and waiting for another sun to set, but she, somehow-in weal or in woe-never lived a dull moment.

Her sense of humor was infectious. Whether you wanted it or not, she was going to spread it to your gut… just like the sepsis (I don’t care if you think that’s tasteless-she would have loved it, so buzz off). Recently someone shared with me that if they close their eyes, they can still hear her contagious laughter. If you knew her for even a couple of minutes, I assure you that you could too. It was uniquely her laugh and truly unmistakable.
Jen leaves behind many grieving friends and family members. Kevin Beegan-her husband, her rock, her man-whom I could not imagine her living without these past twenty years. Her children Michael, Tyler, and Dalton Kamens, a bunch of sarcastic know-it-alls; wonder who they got that from? Three step-children: Kevin, Brian, and James Beegan, whom she whole-heartedly loved and supported as her very own. A brother and a sister, seven grandchildren, many wonderful friends and family, and a partridge in a pear tree. She would have done practically anything for all of them-though I’ll say with a shade of bias, she would have truly gone to hell and back for her children because for her, that is what love meant.

Stories, laughter, love. I suppose if your life is ever to be narrowed down to a few short quips, set yourself up and let them be of stories, laughter, and love. That’s a legacy.
Friends may visit with her family for a celebration of her life on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett – Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Avenue, Meriden, CT.
