Obituary: John A. Daniels, 80, Of Meriden

He was the owner and operator of the JT Insulation Co. for more than 35 years until his retirement.

MERIDEN, CT — (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home): John A. Daniels, 80, of Meriden, loving long-time partner of Terri L. Rivers, passed away on December 28, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Kite, GA on June 15, 1942, a son of the late M.B. and Essie Darrien Daniels.

Besides his partner Terri, John is survived by his children; Terry Fann, Mark Green, Denise Daniels, Deanna Hassiem, and Sonny Williams, brothers; MC Daniels (Martha), Austel Daniels (Carolyn), Assad Daniels, Thomas Daniels (Dorothy), Myron Daniels (Jacqueline), and Alfonso Daniels, sisters; Barbara Daniels, Diane Daniels-McCray, and Louise Ward, grandchildren; Tyrin, DeShawn, and Aiden Williams, Wysheika Anderson, and Terriayanna Fann, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He also leaves his dog Shiloh. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elouise Williams and Rachel Daniels, and grandchildren Kiara Hunter and Jabari Hassiem.

John attended Dock Kemp High School in Georgia. He eventually moved to Meriden, CT, where he held several jobs until starting the JT Insulation Co., of which he was the owner and operator for over 35 years until his retirement.

John’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Hartford Hospital Cardiac Care, Unit 10-I/Bliss Unit, and their team for taking excellent care of their dear loved one.

A service celebrating John’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 4 at 12 noon at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Friends may visit with his family from 9 a.m. to 12 noon before the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of his family.
