Obituary: Judith A. Powers, 75, Of Meriden
Judith was a talented crafter and attended many craft fairs. She enjoyed taking car rides, trips to the casino and caring for her grand dogs

MERIDEN, CT — (From Meriden Memorial Funeral Home): Judith A. Powers, 75, beloved wife of the late John G. Powers, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Complete Care of Meriden.
Born on August 31, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Clarice (Orzech) LeBlanc. Judith was a lifelong resident of Meriden. She was a graduate of Platt High School and parishioner of St. Joseph Church. Judith was an avid reader, shopper at Amazon and fan of the show Hawaii Five O. She loved her coffee, especially when it came from McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts, with a jelly donut.
Judith was a talented crafter and attended many craft fairs. She enjoyed taking car rides, trips to the casino and caring for her grand dogs. Judith’s favorite place to be was at the beach, she loved the water. Judith spent many summers making forever memories with her family at their beach house called “The Midget” at Clinton Beach.

Mrs. Powers is survived by her daughter Tammy Sgroi. and her husband Anthony, Jr. and their children, her grandchildren: Erica Zalewski and her husband Christopher, Anthony Sgroi, III and his fiancé Alyssa Casner; her daughter Kimberly Sheftel and her husband Brian and their children, her grandchildren: Brianna Lemachko and her wife Danielle and Noah Sheftel; her daughter Jodi Powers and her partner Amy Callahan; her best friend Nancy Knox and several cousins who she was very close to.
Judith’s family would like to thank the Administrators and all of Judith’s caregivers at Complete Care nursing home in Meriden, CT for their assistance and daily care.

Her funeral is private. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
