Obituary: Mark ‘MJ’ Verch Jr., 33, of Meriden

Mark “MJ” Verch Jr., 33, of Meriden, passed away unexpectedly January 2, 2017 at his home.

MJ graduated top of his class at Sheehan High School in 2001 and continued onto the University of Connecticut. He worked for Savers Donation Center for the past few years. MJ touched so many lives with his sweet and loving soul. His special love for children shined so bright, especially with his niece, Aubrey, with whom he shared the most special of bonds.

MJ is survived by his parents, Laurie (Schmidt) and Scott Verch of Wallingford; his sisters, Jessica Verch and Cassie Verch both of Wallingford; his brother, Ryan Verch of Alton, New Hampshire; his maternal grandmother, Audrey Schmidt; his step-mother, Helen Verch; Cioci Joan and Uncle Ed; his niece and love of his life, Aubrey; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. MJ was predeceased by his father, Mark A. Verch Sr., his paternal grandparents, Manny and Dolores Verch, and his maternal grandfather, Leonard Schmidt Sr.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. with a prayer service to be held 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
