Obituary: Patricia H. Schaefer, 102, Of Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home): Patricia Haviland (Hill) Schaefer, 102, of Meriden, wife of the late Roy W. Schaefer, passed away at the Miller Memorial Community December 26, 2023.

Born in New Haven September 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Alice (Rich) Hill. She is survived by her children, Polly (John) DeRoy of Poultney, Vermont and Douglas H. Schaefer of Middletown; grandchildren, Jonathon, Gregory, Jeremy DeRoy, Alison (DeRoy) Singleton, and Jamie Schaefer; great-grandchildren, Gunner, Grayson, and Asher Singleton, Madison and Lyla DeRoy, Lexi Paquin and Paige Brancaccio; great-great grandchildren, Kali and Mia Shaw; and her loving niece and caregiver Cheryl Blais, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Raleigh, George, William, Forest and Douglas Hill, granddaughter Jessica and great-granddaughter Sophia Brancaccio.

Patricia worked as a paraprofessional in the Meriden Schools for many years, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Miller Memorial Community for their caring service.

A Graveside Service will be held privately with Patricia’s family. Arrangements in care of Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
