Obituary: Patrick B. Cerreta Jr., 75, Of Meriden
Ricky will be missed most for his quick wit and lovingly remembered for his ceaseless knowledge of music.

MERIDEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick B. Cerreta, Jr., 75, announces his sudden passing at his home on June 21, 2023. Patrick, known to his family and childhood friends as Ricky, was a life-long resident of Meriden. He was the son of the late Patrick Sr. and Gloria (Dioguardi) Cerreta and the loving husband to Ann (Service) Cerreta with whom he had just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on June 19th.
Ricky was a 1966 graduate of Platt High School in Meriden and continued his education at the Hartford Institute of Accounting earning an Associate’s degree. He started his accounting career at Times Wire and Cable which quickly led him to a 26-year career at World Tableware International where he rose to the position of Assistant Controller. When World Tableware relocated in the late 1990’s, he continued his accounting career at Amphenol/Spectra-Strip until his retirement in 2011.
Whether it was playing cards, working on a crossword puzzle, or watching a ball game on TV (yes…even golf) Ricky was always ready to strike up a conversation. He could talk a good deal of politics at a moment’s notice and loved to play cards both for fun with his friends at “the club” or at home with his kids and laugh uproariously at the nonsense of the banter capable at those card tables.
