Obituary: Pearl K. Wanat, 91, Of Meriden
Pearl enjoyed visiting the casinos and playing bingo, but most importantly, she cherished her time spent with her family.

MERIDEN, CT — (From Meriden Memorial Funeral Home): Pearl (Hammel) Wanat, 91, of Meriden, loving wife of husband, Peter Wanat, passed away on Wednesday August 23, 2023 at Apple Rehab Coccomo, surrounded by loving family.
Born June 20, 1932 in Plymouth, NH, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Gertrude (Smith) Hammel.
Pearl enjoyed visiting the casinos and playing bingo, but most importantly, she cherished her time spent with her family.

In addition to her husband Peter, she leaves her children Rosalie Parker and husband Peter, Raymond Hodgson and wife Linda, Cheryl Revenaugh and husband Kevin, Pamela Zimmer and partner Robert, Gregory Hodgson and wife Dayle, and Christine Aitken and former husband William; grandchildren Katie, Olivia, Drew, Emily, Angela, Korina, Nicole, Michelle, Dave, Christopher, Phaelen and Sharma; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother Leonard Hammel Jr. and wife Joleen; two sisters, Priscilla Kenney and Sylvia Downing Agley along with several nieces and nephews. Pearl was also predeceased by her first husband Lester Hodgson Sr. and her son Lester Hodgson Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden. Burial followed in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
